Isolator Containment for personal protection

Personal Protection

How does a glovebox protect the user and the environment from hazardous substances?

The primary purpose of glovebox systems is to protect the operator from exposure to radioactive materials or other hazardous substances that may be present. The glovebox system also prevents the release of these materials into the environment, which is important for both safety and regulatory compliance.

In addition to personal protection, a glovebox system provides other benefits. It allows for precise control of the environment inside the box, including temperature, humidity, and gas composition. This is important for maintaining the integrity and stability of the materials being handled.

Therefore, we develope glovebox systems for the handling of critical, toxic (cancerogenic) nanoparticles, nanotube or unknown materials with a prooven safety concept.

Glovebox systems according to DIN EN 25412

  • All necessary safety features for handling actinoids & substances of very high concern (SVHC)
  • Customized systems usable under air and inertgas atmosphere (Ar, N2)
  • MBRAUN as general contractor

Isolators with inert atmosphere fullfilling class 1 according to ISO 10648-1

  • No particles or impurities inside
  • Safe and stable process conditions
  • MBRAUN Process Tools available
  • Third-party equipment integration

Filtration of gases

Bag-In / Bag-Out transfer

Equipment integration

Our recommendations for the nuclear sector:

ISOpro Nano

The ISO-Pro-Nano glovebox with integrated blower is designed for operator protection while working with nanoparticles. It is operated in relative negative pressure to the environment (-200 Pa).

Ovens

High temperature annealing ovens up to 2.200 °C

Nuclear enclosures
