Regular Calibration for Precise Measurement Results
Oxygen and moisture sensors continuously monitor the atmosphere inside your glovebox. They display the current O₂ and H₂O levels, enabling reliable monitoring of sensitive processes in the ppm range. Only accurate sensor readings allow the stability of the inert gas atmosphere to be reliably assessed.
Annual calibration is essential because sensors naturally drift over time. Aging, process conditions, and environmental influences can cause displayed values to deviate from the actual atmospheric conditions. Even minor measurement deviations can lead to undesirable results when working with sensitive materials or research processes.
For this reason, MBRAUN recommends annual calibration of both oxygen and moisture sensors.
Sensor Calibration - We Offer Two Proven Calibration Options
Standard Calibration
If your glovebox can operate without the sensor for a short period, Standard Calibration is the ideal solution. Simply send your sensor to MBRAUN for calibration, and after calibration you will receive the same sensor, with the same serial number, fully calibrated and ready for use.
Sensor Exchange
The fastest and most convenient solution: MBRAUN sends you a newly calibrated replacement sensor, which you simply exchange for your existing sensor. Your glovebox therefore remains equipped with a sensor at all times—only the sensor's serial number changes. This option minimizes downtime and significantly simplifies the calibration process.
Important Information:
Before calibration or sensor exchange can be performed, we first verify whether the returned sensor is suitable for the requested service option. In addition, a Decontamination Declaration must be completed and submitted to MBRAUN for every sensor sent in for calibration.
This declaration protects our employees by confirming that the device is free from hazardous substances. The decontamination declaration can be completed either as a PDF form or via the online form available in the MBRAUN Online Shop.

Once MBRAUN has reviewed and approved the declaration, you will receive all further instructions regarding the return shipment of your sensors.
Both calibration options include professional calibration according to MBRAUN factory standards, together with the issuance of a Calibration Certificate. Upon request, we also provide an Initial Value Certificate, documenting your sensor's measurement deviation prior to calibration.
