The MBRAUN Story

MBRAUN was founded in 1976 by the two experienced and dedicated engineers Helmut Föllster and Gerhard Hinrichs. Their first high-quality inert gas glovebox systems, developed in Munich, Germany, laid the foundation for the company's success.

Since 2002, MBRAUN has been part of INDUS Holding AG. This partnership with the internationally active investment company provides a strong foundation for sustainable growth, continuous innovation, and the ongoing advancement of our technologies.

With production facilities established in the United States (1994) and China (2002), MBRAUN laid the foundation for its international presence at an early stage. Additional sales and service offices followed in the United Kingdom (2007), South Korea (2013), and France (2016). The latest expansion of our global network is our new production facility in India, which opened in 2024.

From Lab to Fab

What began with individual standard gloveboxes for research applications has evolved into highly integrated process solutions. Today, MBRAUN develops large-scale enclosures and modular glovebox clusters that enable complete process chains under an inert gas atmosphere—from research and development to industrial production. Every system is individually configured to provide the optimum solution for each specific application.
