Wet Coating Under a Controlled Atmosphere

Wet coating processes play an important role in the development and production of modern functional coatings, for example in battery, solar cell, perovskite, OLED, and semiconductor research. In these processes, liquid materials, solutions, inks, or pastes are precisely applied to a substrate and subsequently dried or further processed.

Especially when working with sensitive materials, the process environment is critical. Moisture, oxygen, or other contaminants such as particles can significantly affect film quality, reproducibility, and material stability.

We help you create the right environmental conditions for your process. Inert atmospheres with O₂ and H₂O levels below 1 ppm, or the combination with laminar flow for particle reduction, open up new possibilities for process development and optimization.

As a process integrator, MBRAUN combines suitable coating technologies not only with an inert atmosphere but also creates an optimized overall system concept—from material preparation, material handling, coating, and drying to downstream process steps such as vacuum coating, analytical processes, or encapsulation. This results in a stable, closed process chain tailored to your application, materials, and production requirements.

Integration Instead of Standalone Equipment

MBRAUN supports the integration of various wet coating technologies into glovebox systems, ranging from R&D platforms to production equipment. In doing so, we consider ergonomics, atmosphere control, solvent management, substrate handling, process reliability, footprint, and integration with additional process modules.
